  6. You need 2 cloves of garlic, chopped.

  10. You need 1/2 cup of lemon or orange juice.

Papaya Chicken with Turmeric Rice Step By Step

  1. Cook rice
  2. Prepare a pan with oil and sautee scallion, garlic and ginger
  3. Add chicken along with bell pepper and cook until the chicken turns white
  4. Add fish sauce or shrimp paste together with lemon or orange juice, soy sauce and sambal oelek. Mix well.
  5. Add broccoli and papaya (or mushroom) and cook until the broccoli is soft. Make sure to adjust, not to add papaya earlier than broccoli if papaya was already soft before you start cooking it.
  6. Add salt to taste. My shrimp paste was already salty enough so I didn't add any salt.
  7. Serve with hot turmeric rice.
